Idea #68: Understanding the origins of the Universe, Science or Nonsense?

Somehow I find this attempt by scientists to understand the origin of Universe through physics, maths, experiments and telescopes rather pointless. Don't know what exactly they hope to acheive. Moreover the Universe that these scientists are referring to is their "very limited" idea of it, which they call the observable Universe and they have estimated that it came into being some 13.2billion years ago. So what about 13.3 billion years ago or for that matter 50billion years ago? The Universe was not there? Of course it was there, it has always been there and it will always be there...but perhaps in different ways, forms and features than of today's Universe. The Universe is a constantly changing entity and my humble submission is that it's impossible to gain all knowledge, ever, about the Universe in it's entireity and actuality. Science is a very powerful tool but should focus it's efforts solely on general well being of all forms of life and in spearding happiness across, don't know how spending billion of dollars on things like the Large Hadron Collidor to recreate the big bang conditions fits into the scheme of things. Puzzles me!
